For the past decade, the Women’s Surf Film Festival has been highlighting stories about women – most often told by women with a strong devotion to the ocean. Like all walks of life, there’s a range of diverse experiences around the globe, especially as the surf community grows. The WSFF has become a place to find just a taste of that diversity in a single night of screening films.
The festival has showcased classics like Lauren Hill’s Pear Shaped and even The Inertia’s own Legend of the Iron Seahorse, starring Leah Dawson. So, with a track record of showing such memorable films, fans and filmmakers can expect to find more gems in this year’s 10th rendition — an event that is finally making its California debut October 11-13, 2023 in Venice and Ventura.
The 2023 WSFF film program features:
• Riding the Rhythms
• Wahine & Waves
• REBORN
• WOMP
• Emergence
• Jamaica
• Momento
• Synchronism
Find more details and tickets here for this year’s event, which kicks off at The Waterfront Venice on Wednesday, October 11, and concludes with screenings at Topa Topa Brewing Company in Ventura.
